The US has warned Russia’s ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, that his home country should not escalate its war in Ukraine, and cease its military operations near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Mr Antonov visited the US state department last week, the Biden administration said.
The site, which is home to the biggest nuclear power plant in Europe, has been the scene of increasing tensions over the last few weeks, with both sides blaming each other for explosions and attacks.
